Raised in a traditional Indo-Malay family, Nurul’s unconventional thinking led her to explore new paths. In her mid-20s, she grew disillusioned with the typical Singapore work-life scene and decided to seek new opportunities abroad, eventually settling in Dubai. During her five years there, she pursued a healthier lifestyle through regular gym workouts, yoga practice, and mindful eating. Despite her efforts, she struggled to get a proper diagnosis for joint inflammations and recurring knee injuries. Nurul was also diagnosed with hormonal imbalances that resulted in severe symptoms like heavy periods, porous bones, and eczema. Frustrated with conventional medicine, she turned to natural remedies, discovering the healing power of Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy. Ayurveda addressed her conditions at their root, while Yoga Therapy helped her harness her energy and emotions. This transformative experience inspired her to study these ancient disciplines, both for her own healing and to help others.

His early career was shaped by his Master’s Degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Human Development, which focused on healing approaches for vulnerable groups in transition and trauma victims. This foundation led to a career dedicated to trauma healing, crisis intervention, and personal transformation. Glenn is also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), having conducted nearly 20,000 sessions, as well as in Ericksonian Psychotherapy and Hypnosis, NOVA crisis response, and is an accredited facilitator for the FOCCUS marriage preparation program.

Having an ongoing interest in the intertwined workings of the mind and body, Varian is decidedly enthusiastic about counseling and all things psychology-related. Adopting a client-centered humanistic approach as the driving form of his counseling style, he has been assisting clients in managing their behaviors in one-to-one and group sessions since 2013. He began his counseling journey by being introduced to behavioral compulsions and impulse control difficulties, which also happen to be his areas of speciality. He has facilitated all-male support groups for compulsive sexual behavior disorder, and behavior modification for problematic sexual behavior, in both private and governmental settings. In these two environments, Varian worked with clients on their psychoeducation and to relearn the shame and guilt surrounding compulsion. While he provides multiple tools to guide clients onto their paths of recovery, he draws upon several other techniques that are beneficial to his clients; focusing strongly on emotions while involving some cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and somatic approaches.
